One week down, 15 to go! Andy and I are completing our first tour tomorrow morning (and also beginning our second tour). It has been mostly good; the group is a younger group, average age probably 50, very active, want to know everything, ask lots of questions, overall happy to be here. On the flip side, we have a lot of smokers who get a bit grumpy when they need their cigarette, we have one lady in a wheelchair, four who are diabetic, and one who fell and broke her hip in Denali and had to be rushed to the Fairbanks Hospital (2 1/2 hours away) by ambulance! What a terrible way to start and end a vacation. Thank goodness for travel insurance and technology. After about 50 phone calls we had a flight arranged for the lady who fell: private medical plane landed in Fairbanks at 1, stopped in Seattle to refuel, and landed in Los Angeles and rushed her to the hospital where they arrived a midnight. She was to have surgery today. Other than that, we have two girls that are totally in love with Andy and one guy who is trying to be my best friend. No one knows that we are married, so that is a bit awkward. I usually don't ever worry about seeing anyone again, but one of the girls wants to stay in touch with me, come visit this winter, and work with us next season!

Oh Brianna - I wish we were there. We are really missing Alaska. What a good way to start your summer...nothing like a little trip to get things going. Hope you guys have a great summer...please keep the post going of all your tours. I love those stories.
Sorry about all the problems in the first week --- but glad you made it through your first week --- as an unattached couple. Who wouldn't have fun being in Alaska --- beats me?
Wow! So busy! Good luck with your new best friend! :) Let us know when you are around...or if your brother needs anything.
