Let me begin by telling you that fireworks are illegal in Alaska! That makes for one heck of a 4th of July, huh? Well, in Houston, Alaska, fireworks are allowed and they do sell them, so naturally everyone goes there to purchase them. On our way home from Talkeetna last week, we stopped at one of the fireworks stands in Houston. Of course I am the conservative wife who is freaking out the entire time that we are even looking at fireworks let alone possibly going to buy a few. But, who can resist a few snaps or smokeballs? Ü
Everyone in the company is usually out of town on Fridays, but we happened to be around along with our friends, Dwight and Debra. We invited them over to our place after we got off of work (at like 7:00 pm) to have a little barbecue. Our sister-in-law, Saundra, makes these amazing hamburgers, right? So we decide we are going to try them out as well. Andy thought he knew how to replicate her recipe (keyword=thought), but he did exactly the opposite. Let me introduce to you our new favorite food: 
We call these nice looking blobs on the grill "Sloppy-Burger-Loaves". Sloppy because they completely fall apart when you try to flip them on the grill or take a bite out of them; burger because there IS hamburger somewhere in it; and loaf because it has the consistancy of meatloaf. On top of that, they are 100% disgusting. If anyone wants the recipe for "Sloppy-Burger-Loaves", give Andy a call haha. And Saun, we'll be giving you a call soon to get the real recipe!

We couldn't have firewords in Yellowstone either --- but Paula brought "glow sticks" and the kids had a ball with them. Glad you have so many friends to hang out with.
AND --- I really want to try that new recipe for the "burger loaves" --- they DO look good --- kind of like the meat I used to
S-T-R-E-T-C-H --- for our big family.
Those burgers remind me of the good old fashioned burgers at Big Judd's. Glad you guys had a fun 4th of July.
