Groupon is our new way of life. I'm not even kidding. We have found some great restaurants and have gone on multiple "weekend" trips thanks to Groupon!
We just got home from an overnight stay at the Knik River Cabins. I Google-mapped it (is that a verb?) so you can get an idea of the terrain. It is about an hour or so from our house and is literally at the end of Knik River Road. We passed a handful of dumps houses on our way out there. It makes me so angry that people think it is okay to destroy such a beautiful place with their junk! That discussion is for another time. Anyway, you can see below that the marker is in a forest next to a braided river and at the "foot" of the Knik Glacier (really it is probably like 10-15 miles to the glacier).
I took a lot of pictures (of course), but mostly I wanted to document the GREEN on this trip! The trees are finally turning green and it is exciting! It still looks a little blah in these pictures, but we are getting there.(Minus the sulfur-y water that caused us to gag this morning while brushing our teeth.)
The Groupon came with breakfast in bed. Kinda weird, yes, but whatever! They asked us when we wanted it delivered and they were there right on time. You're probably thinking, hmmm lots of bread? Yup. The owners are European.
